Work from this lab has been dedicated to the estimation of energy expenditure before, during, and after exercise and eating.

Measurements of resting metabolic rate, the thermic effect of feeding, exercise energy expenditure, VO2 max, blood lactate and recovery oxygen uptake are routine.

Working directly with Dr. Christopher Scott, dedicated undergraduate students have completed ~50 research projects with some putting in the time and effort to publish in a peer reviewed scientific journal.

Preparation for those students who elect to go to graduate school is excellent.

As an active Human Performance Laboratory, a primary focus was made in the assessment of the energy costs of strength, speed and power related exercise and activity.
